How to update from the App Store

STEP 1

Make sure you’re on a high-speed, reliable network.  Our apps use graphics extensively and can be large.

The public “wi-fi” networks in locations such as airports, hotels and malls can be finicky, so you might want to ensure you’re on a network by using Safari to get to a reliable website before proceeding.

STEP 2

Touch the app icon until it starts vibrating.  Then click the X symbol, and delete it.

STEP 3

Go to the App Store on the device:

STEP 4

Select the Purchased tab (on iPhones, look for the Updates tab, then the Purchased link):

STEP 5

At the top of the screen, choose Not On This iPad/iPhone.

STEP 6

At this point, if you don’t see the app for reinstallation, you can search for it or use the arrows to browse to it:

STEP 7

Once you find the app, touch it.  Then you should see the product briefing page, along with a INSTALL button.  The INSTALL button replaces the price button you saw when you first installed the app.  This indicates the app is available for re-downloading without cost.  If you see a price, something has gone wrong: you may not be in the Purchased area.

At this point, you should see the regular download process, ending up with a fresh install of the app.
